LEGOS

In addition to being a math nerd, I am also a small LEGO nerd.  My classroom was decorated in LEGOS this year. I thought of lots of ways I could incorporate LEGOS into my classroom. PLUS, I was a big hit with the boys.  Those boys that weren't too excited about school, or even me, had a new outlook when they saw how much of a LEGO nerd I was.

I have an amazing best friend who comes each year to my classroom to help me do whatever before school starts.  His project this year was cutting out paper LEGOS and bricks to go in my bar graph.

My mom helps me a lot in the classroom too.  She has a Cricut and cut out my minifugres.  If you don't have a Cricut or have friend or family member that has one, your really need to purchase one.  I keep Mom busy each month making different stuff for my classroom.

Not only did I decorate in LEGOS, our first homework assignment was to build something out of LEGOS, bring it to school (or make it at school), and share how math was involved.  Here are some of their creations.

Truck with trailer.  Had to measure the trailer to make sure it would pull another truck.
